The Kids to Kids private initiative presented itself first at the 2nd Magglingen Conference for Sport and Development
Among other 20 establised organisations we presented the following proposal: Thousands of children need very basic supplies, and our program wants to give children the opportunity to help by putting together "Kids Kits" each containing a few basic items for a child. School children could be inspired to reach out and help other children in their time of need.
Following the tragic and unprecedented destruction and loss caused by the South East Asian earthquake and tsunami, three schools in the Bodensee region (northern Switzerland) were inspired to organise a sponsor run.

When they saw that the global effort was made to bring desperately needed relief to the tsunami victims while other important humanitarian projects got less support, they wanted to sponsor some other projects, which are also aimed at helping thousands of people facing imminant starvation, disease and economic devastation. They choose a school project of the Tegla Loroupe Peace Foundation in Kenya.
What is perhaps even more important than the money collected: by widening our children's understanding of a larger world family and how one school can make a difference, this program offers a valuable educational message that will help our children to become better citizens of our world.
